A bit of History

Created over 120 years ago in Europe, Papier d’Arménie (Paper of Armenia) is a unique and natural deodorizer made into perfumed paper strips that can be burned or placed in drawers.

Made using benzoin resin originally used to disinfect homes in Armenia, it has since been renowned for its antiseptic, healing and expectorant properties. Valued for its sweet, vanilla, and balsamic notes, perfumers use it to create popular perfumes today.

Moreover, the small strip of Benzoin resin has a unique smell. In 1885 during a trip to Armenia, Auguste Ponsot discovered its disinfectant properties. He decided to import its benefits to France. Presently, people use benzoin externally to cure asthma, coughs, and colds.

To Use

Tear off one strip of paper from your booklet, and fold it into an accordion shape. And then, place it on a small heat-resistant container (an ashtray or an incense burner). If you bought it with Le Kit, you could use its compartment. Light it, then blow out the flame gently so the paper does not burn up (Papier d’Arménie should burn slowly). The strip should burn slowly (up to 5 minutes), like an incense stick. Burning the paper will leave an ash residue which can easily be washed off.

You may use Papier d’Arménie without burning.

Just place a strip or two of papers, as they are, in wardrobes, dressers, drawers or closets, books, etc. It has a subtle, pleasing fragrance – you can also put a strip in gifts of clothing, books, or cards.

Usage Advice

  • Burn one strip 3 or 4 times a week
  • Ventilate your home regularly
  • Also, always ventilate the room after use
  • Do not leave a burning strip unattended
  • Keep away from children
  • Avoid inhaling the smoke directly

To Keep

Store in a cool, dry place.
