Three Uses For Coconut Body Oil

Are you still checking what uses coconut oil body oil there? Look no further, as we will share our experience using it!

For many years, coconut oil has been used on the body by many cultures. My family is from Fiji, a land full of coconuts and sun. And using coconuts on the body is as common as using them in cooking. Nevertheless, many use coconut oil for hydration. It has antifungal and antibacterial properties, making it an ideal oil for the body.

Three Uses For Coconut Oil Body Oil:

  • Use coconut oil after a bath or shower to hydrate the skin. For optimal results, use an exfoliating mitt or dry brush the skin first and then bathe. Dry brushing the skin gently removes dry and dead skin cells, which improves the absorption of coconut oil. Coconut oil will harden in cool temperatures, and placing it in a warm room will help to retain its liquid form.
  • Many use Coconut Oil for oil pulling. A study found coconut oil was as effective as chlorhexidine, a prescription mouthwash, in reducing Streptococcus mutans, the bacteria believed to cause tooth decay. Source: Peedikayi FC, Remy V, John S, Chandru T P, Sreenivasan P, Bijapur GA. Comparison of coconut oil and chlorhexidine antibacterial efficacy on Streptococcus mutans: An in vivo study. J Int Soc Prevent Communit Dent 2016;6:447-52 VIA Colgate.com
  • Coconut oil can also be used as a hair mask to reduce hair protein loss and keep it looking healthy. My brother and I had coconut oil massaged into our scalps regularly. And my mum still uses it on her hair!

Coconut oil is a wonderful all-around go-to oil for hydration. For an authentic experience, you can use virgin coconut oil or any hair, body, or skin products that include coconut oil as an ingredient.
